UIDAN offers a matched savings accounts called an Individual Development Account (IDA) that help people with modest means to succeed as homeowners, college students or entrepreneurs. For every $1 you save, UIDAN will match it with $3. You can save up to $1,500 in your IDA and receive up to $4,500 in match money, giving you a total of $6,000 to invest in your goal. "The IDA program provided the tools I needed to find my way out of the hopelessness of poverty."

Financial Capability & Asset Building
Qualified participants are required to attend a series of financial planning education and life skills training workshops before purchasing an approved asset.

Building Strong Communities.
IDAs help strengthen Utah's economy and build strong communities by strengthening positive financial behaviors through asset accumulation and preserving financial assets. IDAs are a matched savings account that encourages savings, investment and asset formation among moderate income working families. Assets - such as a home, a college education, a business, or a work-related assistive technology device - enable low-income families to move into the economic mainstream.

Joel and Cindy, married for five years, are the parents of two children: a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. They were raised in Davis County where Joel works for a national restaurant and Cindy works part time to augment the family’s income. They thought UIDAN was “too good to be true” but did some research and realized that an IDA would help them achieve a dream that seemed unattainable – owning their own home.
